Mark buttonholes on Waistband and Fly Facing.
37. Follow the directions in your sewing machine manual to sew buttonholes to the Waistband and Fly Facing. Use your seam ripper to cut open the buttonholes. Apply a seam sealant such as Fray Check to the buttonhole opening.
38. Mark the placement of the buttons on the Waistband and Fly Shield beneath. Sew the buttons to the overlapped portion of the Waistband and Fly Shield, as well as the tops of each Strap.
This has been one of my daughter’s favorite skirts to wear. She loves it with T-shirts and sandals in warmer months and leggings or tights and boots during cooler weather. Mix it up by adding a touch of lace to the hem or eliminating the ruffle altogether.
